The creative team of Jon Lucas and Scott Moore latched onto a great premise with “Bad Moms,” focusing on the Sisyphean efforts of a trio of mothers (Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn) who decide after a time to give up on trying to be the perfect homemakers/career women and settle for having some pressure-free fun. The comic timing of the leads and the laidback charm of the tone carried the day the first time out, but this “Christmas” iteration doesn’t add anything fresh to the mix. Instead, we get holiday routines and mommy issues with the arrival of Cheryl Hines, Christine Baranski, and Susan Sarandon, who fail to create a truly naughty spark to make this a nice treat. This is what happens when you rush back to the well too soon, when the well is obviously dry.
